Is the metadata really removed?
Yes. The image is re-encoded, so the resulting file contains pixels only — none of the embedded details from the original file carry over.
Why does the result download as a JPG?
Cleaning works by re-encoding, so a single output format is used. If you need another format, run the downloaded file through the Convert Image Format tool.
Which details can be read?
EXIF fields in JPG files are read: GPS location, capture date, device make and model, the software used, and the serial number. PNG and WebP files show no readable list, but cleaning still works.
